BREEAM Assessments

The Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method

Thermographic surveys will help towards valuable credits for your Breeam rating and thermography is now utilised as part of Breeam reporting.

Only level two qualified thermographers can provide this reporting tool to which all of our engineers are recognised.

Internationally recognised with over three thousand qualified assessors across sixty countries globally, Breeam is the world’s first and leading assessment method for sustainable buildings.

Construction and handover

Using a scorecard approach the approved rating can be reached to ensure a Breeam Certification.

The principal contractor accounts for a thermographic survey within the project's budget and programme of works. Once construction is complete a thermographic survey of the building fabric is undertaken in accordance with the appropriate standard and by a professional holding a valid Level 2 certificate in thermography (as defined by the UKTA website http://www.ukta.org).

This survey confirms:

  • Continuity of insulation in accordance with the construction drawings.
  • Avoidance of excessive thermal bridging.
  • Avoidance of air leakage paths through the fabric (except through intentional openings).
  • Any defects identified via the post construction inspections are rectified.
